I love sewing shopping bags!

These bags was inspired by a cheap polyester bags that are available in Norwegian grocery-stores. But in compare to it my bags are elegant enough to take them to a restaurant right after shopping! To make these bags I usually buy some heavy canvas. For the pockets I use second hand leather jackets or some other kind of leather such as furniture leather samples from furniture stores.

I was thinking to post an easy tutorial and began to take pictures as I sew. It is the approximate measurements and you can adjust it as you wish. In this case I cut a bit bigger/wider version.

You can use bias tape or sew french seams on inside seams.Bias tape on the top seams.
